The truth is everything that puts you into that mental state of thinking that certain foods are "bad" and shouldn't be included in your life are gimmicks. This is just my opinion. What happens is that it creates unhealthy habits and unhealthy relationships with food. It actually makes you overeat which is better for the pharmaceutical industry.
Results come when you correct the root underlying issue. This also has to be do-able in order to be sustainable. If you can't maintain habits developed, you will continue to yo-yo with your weight and health.
